JAN COLLMER in the FINA EXTRA 300L

The FINA EXTRA is sponsored by ALON USA, headquarters in Dallas, Texas, and the 1,600 FINA gasoline stations throughout 7 states. Today, well-known airshow pilot, Jan Collmer of Dallas, Texas, flies the FINA EXTRA 300 L.

Walter Extra of Germany built this plane, the 19th 300L, in 1996. The aircraft is powered by a Lycoming 540 engine rated at 300 horsepower. The plane is equipped with fully inverted systems for oil and gasoline. The EXTRA is capable of any aerobatic maneuver and is certified to +10 and -10 Gs.

Jan Collmer is a native of Dallas, Texas. He received his initiation into flying at NAS Pensacola, and was awarded Navy wings at NAS Corpus Christi. He flew Navy fighters both active and reserve, including the Panther, Cougar, Banshee, Fury, and F8 Crusader. He retired from active reserve with the rank of Lieutenant Commander.

Jan is an 20+ year airshow veteran and has flown over 300 airshow performances across the United States from Daytona Beach to MCAS Miramar and from Minnesota to NAS Corpus Christi, Texas.

His aviation related activities include serving as President of the Frontiers of Flight Museum at Dallas Love Field, two four year terms on the board of the Dallas/Ft. Worth International Airport, former Chairman of the Greater Dallas Chamber of Commerce, and a member of ICAS, CAF, EAA, IAC and many other aviation organizations.

Jan's day job is president of High Voltage Power Systems, Inc. in Dallas, a distributor of high-tech electronic components. He is also very active in civic and charitable institutions and is a Trustee of the University of Dallas.
